Post-doctoral opening at CABD-Seville, Martínez-Morales lab.
Fecha de publicación: Jun 30, 2021 8:6:56 PM
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in Juan R. Martinez-Morales’ Laboratory.
Control of Epithelial Morphogenesis in Vertebrates.
Requirements: We are seeking for a postdoctoral researcher with experience in bioinformatics/
computational tools applied to NGS (RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, scRNAseq, or Ribo-seq). Additional wet-lab
training in developmental biology, with zebrafish as model organism, as well as in transcriptomics, or
translatomics will be positively evaluated. Both early career and senior postdoctoral researchers are
eligible. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
We offer: A 1 + 2 years postdoctoral contract (CISC) in a competitive group combining experimental
embryology, live-imaging, genetics genetics (CRISPR-Cas9), and OMICs (RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, DamIDseq,
and scRNA-seq) to understand tissue morphogenesis in teleost models. See publications:

The hosting group and the centre offer and excellent international research environment to develop as
an independent researcher.

The Project: A long-term goal in our group is to understand how genetic programs control the shape
and behaviour of precursor cells; and how in turn the resulting morphogenetic forces impinge back in
the regulation of the genetic programs. Investigating this interplay, often referred as mechanoregulatory
feedback loops, is the overarching theme of the current proposal. Despite their key role in
development and disease progression, we still have little information on how mechano-regulatory
feedback loops trigger self-organization at a tissue level. Moreover, mechanotransduction mechanisms
themselves are far from being fully understood. Particularly, little is known on mid-range mechanisms
acting within minutes, especially on how mechanical forces impinge on mRNAs translation efficiency.
We are seeking for candidates that can work both independently and in the context of a team within
this proposal.
Application deadline: 31-August-2021
Preferred Starting Date (Negotiable). October 2021-January 2021.
