GROUP NAME / RESEARCH INTEREST IN FEW WORDS: Fish Physiology

SHORT SUMMARY OF RESEARCH INTEREST (MAX. 200 WORDS):

Our Zebrafish laboratory is located at the Bioterio Central of the Federal University of Lavras in Brazil. We currently work on studies with ecotoxicology, potential drug targets, alcoholism genetics and obesity using zebrafish as a research model. In the laboratory we have two automated shelves, capacity of 60 aquariums of 2.5 liters, for fish maintenance. In addition, we have a room for the maintenance of embryos and zebrafish larvae. Our study group was formed 5 years ago and we are advancing in research using the zebrafish model. We have partnerships with other national institutions (Federal University of Minas Gerais-Dr. Ana Lúcia Brunialti Godard) and international institutions (University of Murcia in Spain-Dr. Victoriano Mulero) with which we carry out joint researches currently.
