GROUP NAME / RESEARCH INTEREST IN FEW WORDS:

Feijoo Lab/ We are Interested in the fish innate immune system and inflammatory response.

SHORT SUMMARY OF RESEARCH INTEREST (MAX. 200 WORDS):

Our lab is interested in the fish innate immune system. We are focused in two different aspects; first we are analyzing the effect of chronic exposure to chemical contaminants, like antibiotics, present in fish farms in the innate immune response. On the other hand and due to the need to replace, at least in part, the fishmeal from fish food, we are standarising a method to measure the inflammatory effect of different of vegetable origin proteins, such as soya, in the zebrafish intestine.
